Installing Mobile Admin on an Exchange 2003 Cluster (Active/Passive)
I want to see if anyone has come across any issues or concerns with installing the Exchange 2003 Mobile Admin application that handles remote wipe? My major concern is that I have to install it on one of the servers in the cluster since I have no front end, and cannot find any info related to mobile admin and Exchange Cluster. I want to be sure that since it installs into the default website turning that site on won't cause any interference with the Exchange Virtual Instance. Any suggestions or recomendations? I have installed it in a test environment with no known issues but that does not get the same abuse as our production server.

I have not seen an issue installing it on a cluster. It is just a .NET application and really not all that intrusive. However, I usually recommend organizations use front-ends when they deploy a cluster just to get gateways and connectors and stuff off of the cluster. That all changes in E2K7. In E2K7, if you cluster, the ONLY role that can live on the cluster is the mailbox server role. That is a good thing, IMHO, since it simplifies the cluster quite a bit. I'm sure small-to-medium size admins will disagree with me, cuz it means "more boxes".

I've followed the mobile administration web tools installation directions (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/solutionaccelerators/mobile/deploy/msfp_7.mspx)
and installed MobileAdmin into the cluster name of the active node (2 node Front-End Microsoft Exchange 2003SP2 cluster).
I cannot get the MobileAdmin web page to load (locally or remotely). The installation documentation mentions nothing about cluster-based installations.I made sure that the IIS Virtual Directory called "MobileAdmin" was correctly installed & pointed to: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Administration
I cannot browse to https://clustername/mobileadmin or https://node#1name/mobileadmin - I get a "page cannot be found "message. OWA is, however, running find on this name cluster in the same IIS server in the cluster.?
I also see an empty Virtual Diretory called "Microsoft-Server-Active-Sync" with nothing in it. I cannot browse to that directory either.
Do I need to install MobileAdmin on Node#2 also? Not sure what to do in order to get the WebAdmin page for MobileAdmin application working. In the Exchange System Manager I can see the "Mobile Services" tab in Global Settings and have configured the settings there with no problems -- I just cannot see what devices are connecting/how to wipe, etc..
any help/411 would be great. thanks...
