Installing Exchange SP3 on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 requires KB942763?
I am trying to perform the install above. However, in the ExchangeSetup.log, I get the following message (just listing a segment below) in the 'test-setuphealth' section: [ERROR] This computer requires the update described in http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=92858. Without this... However, I've searched and search and cannot find any update binaries that are relevant to a Windows 2008 R2 x64 OS. What Windows patch do I need to install on 2008 R2 x64 to get around this prerequisite check and/or is there a switch in setup.com to bypass the check (I couldn't find one.) Thanks in advance for any insight/help you can provide. P.S. I am using downloaded Exchange install binary: en_exchange_server_2007_with_sp3_x64.exe

Install Windows 2008 R2 SP1 and the problem should go away. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Simon, thanks for the quick response. I am leaving this reply hoping it maybe of some use to others in the future. All the Exchange installation issues I came across turned out to be a system time issue related to VMware ESXi bug. Although the VM's time was correct on the OS level, the year was set incorrectly to 2001. It caused all kinds of havok with Exchange thinking the system needed DST patches, etc.

Hi w-l-l, Thanks for you sharing.
