Installing Exchange Management Shell on workstation thats not a member of E2k7 forest
We are having issues trying to install the Exch Mgmt Shell due to all the prerequisite checks the installer wants to do. Are there any secret switches we can use to get it to install without checking AD? The computer we are installing it on is not a member of the resource forest where E2K7 is installed. Error Message: Not in schema master site/domain Microsoft Exchange Server2007 setup cannot continue because the computer that is running setup is not in the same ActiveDirectory directory service site or domain as the server that is assigned the domain schema master role, also known as flexible single master operations or FSMO.

I dont think it would let you do this. what you could try as a work around is joing the domain, install the management tools then disjoin the domain again. However, I have my doubts that the management tools would be of any use to you on a workstation that is not part of the domain / forest.

Johan, That is what I have done to get around this at the moment, however,Ithink itshouldinstall under this type ofconfig as many MS customers will have a resource forest where exchange 2007 is installed, however, not manage it from a workstation in that forest but from a trusted domain/forest. Keep you posted if I find anything else around this.
