Installing Exchange 2007 on Server 2008 and AD on Server 2003
Hi, I'm in a closed circle here :(I have two servers:1- Domain: using Windows Server 2003 (full updated) with functional level 20032- Child Domain: using Windows 2008 64bit (Member of the root domain)My task is to install Exchange server 2007 on The second machine [Server 2008 64bit].To do this I made it a member of the Domain [2003 Server Domain], than I tried to install it, but I had error about the Organization operation mode (needed to be in Native mode). When I failed to change the mode, I thought of creating a child domain..I downloaded Exchange 2007 management tolls 32bit for the root domain, and I used command line to prepare the schema [setup /ps] and to prepare AD [setup /prepareAD] and the same error [Organization check --------------------failed, your organization is not ready for exchange 2007, and AD is not working in native mode].To change it to native I have to have Exchange Management tools installed on the machine, and I can't install it for the same reason....Thanks in advance.Khalid..

Hi,1. Please change your domain/child domain to native mode: 1. Right-click the domain object and then click Properties. 2. Click Change Mode. 3. You receive a message requiring confirmation. Click Yes to continue. Click OK to proceed, or No to stop this action. If you plan to add Windows NT 4.0 domain controllers to your configuration, do not proceed. 2. Please run setup /preparealldomains Note: The PrepareAllDomains parameter directs Setup to prepare all domains in the forest for the introduction of Exchange 2007. Every domain that will have Exchange servers or Exchange recipients in it must be prepared. Every domain must be reachable from the server running this parameter, otherwise Setup will fail. Hi all of you,Thanks for all this replies. :)The problem was in the structure of the domain, I was using Windows Server 2003 as the root domain and Windows Server 2008 as a domain member..This made the domain works in MIXED mode..I removed the Server 2008 from the Domain, and created a domain on it, then the installation was fine...Thanks,Khalid.
