Installing E2K3 into existing E2K clustered environment.
Hi, We are wanting to install E2K3 intoour existing Exchange Environment. The goal is to end up with two non-clustered E2K3 machines and decomissioning the existing E2K cluster. As need new hardware and have had problems with the cluster in the past we do not want to attempt to upgrade it . Having not done this type of deployment in the past I am looking for some guidance. Can I just install a E2K3 server into the E2Kenvironment, move everything to the E2K3 and decomission the E2K? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. RM

Yes that are essentially the steps Upgrade your Schema first with Excahange 2003 and prepare your domain with Exchange 2003 (optionally you can prepare your Windows 2003 schema and domain) Then install Exchange 2003 on a separate server and move mailboxes And you want to look at this article (Exchange 2000 server also applies) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931 Deli
