Dear sirs .. I have the following problem .. We have an Windows Server 2008 (32bits) with Active Directory as Domain Controller .. In a second server, we had same Windows Server 2008 (32 bits) and we tried to install Exchange server 2007 .. We had a problem because the disk for Exchange installation is for 64 bits software/hardware .. we download Exchange Server 2007 SP1 (32 bits) and install it without problem .. but, the 32 bits is just for evaluation . and we was not able to register it .. So we reinstall the server with Windows Server 2008 (64 bit) but the exchange server couldn't be installed .. we receive an "incoherence" error during installation .. we tried in other server (outside the current domain forest) running Windows Server 2003 (64 bits) and install proccess was started without problems .. we didn't try the full installation proccess because this server is an standalone with no Domain Controller associatted. We reinstall the Server and now we use Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition (64 bits) .. but the installation of Exchange Server 2007 (64 bits) give us the same "incoherence" error .. We are thinking that the problem is in Domain Controller .. the 32 bit installation wrote something (I'm just assuming that) in the AD Schema and now, we are not able to install the 64 bits version.. We follow the information in http://technet.microsoft.com/es-es/library/cc411332.aspx but we are still not able to install Exchange ... allways the same "incoherence" error What we can do ?? Someone said that I need to remove and install again the Active Directory .. is that true ?? The Active Directory is actually in production .. Best regards.

Exchange 2007 is not supported in 32-bit versions. The one you found and downloaded is just for trial/evaluation purposes. The problem is however, you installed it into your active directory environment. This means an Exchange Organization was created. Installing additional Exchange servers (which is what your 2nd x64 attempt was) will try to place itinto the same org. Which is likely now missing the first server. How did you remove the 32 bit version of Exchange? Did you uninstall it FIRST? Or just reformat the server? We can fix this either way, but I need more detail first. HI, Seem you are not uninstalled exchange 2007 yet. Please remove Exchange 2007 32bit version properly .If you remove old exchange 2007 server without uninstall, and then use /Recoverserver switch and recover the server first. Chinthaka, I might have misunderstood your comment, but you do not need to match versions of exchange CPU with your domain controllers. You can run the complete install from the x64 version as long as you have the proper permissions.Also, evollutionmp - restoring the original server with /recoverserver is the only supported method I would advise another approach instead. Because the Org does not really exist yet, you can delete the Exchange configuration container via adsiedit. Then when installing the x64 server this will recreate this container. On a similar project I had to do this, and while Microsoft said it was unsupported they acknowledged it works. And it did... HI Mike, I suggested him to use Exchange 32bit media to prepare AD because that ADis32 bit.Also ADSI edit method is doesnt recommended by Microsoft that why I am suggest to use RecoverServer switch.RegardsChinthaka
