Install exchange 2007 in new server hardware
I am having a exchange server 2000 installed cluster mode. we have purchased new server hardware and microsoft exchange 2007. Can anyone please help me with the best and cleanest way to upgrade for this scenario. I do not mind server down for a weekend. The new installation will be a single server installation not cluster. Thank you. Regards, C.Raja.

Hi, The easiest and cleanest way to upgrade to Exchange 2007 is to build the new server on the 64bit Windows Server 2003 platform in your existing domain and add the Exchange Server installation to the existing Exchange Organisation. Once the Exchange server is fully functional and you have confirmed mailflow, etc from that server, you can move the mailboxes from the existing Exchange 2000 cluster to the new Exchange 2007 server. Once all of the mailboxes have been moved to the new server you can go through the Exchange 2000 decommisioning process. Cheers, Rhys
