Hi , you can not upgrade your current server to Exchange Server 2007 SP1 version because the RTM installation of exchange server 2007 was not successful. what you need to do inorder to upgrade your current server to SP1, is that you need to have a successfull and up & running RTM Version of Exchange Server 2007 on your server. to correct your problem, here is my advise to you: copy Exchange 2007 binaries and setup files from your Exchange 2007 Media DVD to your local drive on the exchange server, then run the setup again from local server, don't use the CD Drive. wait till the installation finishes successfully, then upgrade this server to SP1. if your Media DVD of exchange is faulty, and you can't get a good media on a short time, then you can use the evaulation 64-bit of Exchange server 2007 that you can download it from microsoft site, evaluation files contains the same setup files of RTM version of Exchange 2007, then use your valid license key for exchange 2007 to activate this server. if you successfully did that, then upgrade it to SP1. the upgarde to SP1 will not work on a server that does not have Exchange 2007 RTM version installed on it. please let me know if the either of the above options worked with you. Hi, Good that you solved your problem. Second, what i understood from your first post is that you already in the process of installing the RTM version of Exchange 2007 and the installation failed, and when you tried to upgrade the failed installation it also failed, thats why i recommend to finish first the RTM installation since it failed, and then upgrade it to SP1. however, if the RTM version was never started, i mean the read installation, then you can use the SP1 to do a fresh installation. SP1 will do a schema and AD update for the domain as well, and you can use the SP1 to do a fresh installation instead of upgrade for Exchange 2007 RTM. the link that you referred to in your reply uses a fresh installation of SP1 , not the upgrade, which can be used , as i said above. i didn't get which file that you edited ? what is the 03 file ? i didn't get this one, please explain more.
