Inserting visio chart with hyperlinks into word

Hello,

I am using visio 2010 to create flowcharts including shapes with different hyperlinks. As these charts are part of a word document I have to copy the chart into the word document. No problem so far...but, as soon as I copy the chart into the word document all the hyperlinks get lost.

As this is a document that changes often exporting it to a pdf and creating the hyperlinks in the pdf is not an option.

Does anybody have an idea how to solve or work around this problem?

since the embedded hyperlinks are part of the visio object model, you should embed the drawings as visio objects. This allows the user to take advantage of them. It also means that the user must have visio installed, since word is clueless on what is inside of a visio diagram or how to handle it. also converting to a pdf file is questionable, once again due to word's lack of functionality.

Thanks for your answer. Would you mind explaining this a little bit further? I tried your suggestion but it didn't work. I still have to double click on the drawing to even be able to see that there is a hyperlink. After double clicking everything is normal because I am back in the visio-surface.

You're doing it correctly. You have to get into the visio space to make them work.

Thanks again.

Just to be sure... If I convert my word document with the visio chart in it into a pdf, I have no chance to include these hyperlinks in it. Is that correct?

The final goal of this little project of mine is a pdf document with the hyperlinks. As this pdf will be changed frequently I want to create the hyperlinks in word not on the pdf, otherwise I have to create them over and over again.
