Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

This is the default behavior of both Outlook and the Microsoft Rich Text Format (RTF) standard.

By default, Outlook set the meeting requests format to RTF, aiming at better transfer across the Internet to other Outlook users.

Rich Text Format (RTF) is a Microsoft Standard file format used in Office, WordPad, and other applications. RTF file is ASCII, and its image storage is extremely large in that each pixel gets encoded as a sequence of ASCII characters. For example by adding a 100kb JPEG image to an RTF document it can increase the file size by 5 MB.

Hope this helps.

We can use Attach File to include an image instead of clicking Pictures button to insert an image.

Hey Vino,

In Outlook 2010 you can also insert a text box and then insert the image inside the text box.  This doesn't stop the meeting size increasing, but it does significantly reduce the amount it increases by.

It looks like they've finally fixed it in Outlook 2016 Tech Preview.

Outlook     Original Image Size    Inserted Size    TextBox Size
2010 92KB 640KB 196KB
2013 92KB 481KB 272KB
2016TP 92KB 130KB 229KB

Hope that helps people in some way.

Thanks
Craig
