This is the default behavior of both Outlook and the Microsoft Rich Text Format (RTF) standard.
By default, Outlook set the meeting requests format to RTF, aiming at better transfer across the Internet to other Outlook users.
Rich Text Format (RTF) is a Microsoft Standard file format used in Office, WordPad, and other applications.
RTF file is ASCII, and its image storage is extremely large in that each pixel gets encoded as a sequence of ASCII characters. For
example by adding a 100kb JPEG image to an RTF document it can increase the file size by 5 MB.
