Inking Tool Grey Out

We're a school corporation and we updated our machines to HP Folio laptops. When we go into Office 2013 the inking tool bar does not show up. When we force it on, all the items are greyed out.

The tablet input service is running and the Table input devices are installed. I did notice on the windows system screen that is says, "No pen or touch input is available for this display".

Thanks,

Matthew

Hi,

As you said >>the windows system screen that is says, "No pen or touch input is available for this display".<<, Office ink tool is requested the pen or touch input driver. Please try to use the following steps to enable touch input device:

  • Click "Start," then click "Control Panel." Double-click "Programs and Features." Click the "Turn Windows features on and off" link on the left-hand side of the window.
  • Place a check mark next to "Tablet PC Optional Components." Click "OK." Wait for Windows to enable Tablet PC, then click "Restart Now."
  • Click "Start," then click "All Programs." Click "Microsoft Office," then click the Office program you want to use ink tools in.
  • Click "Review," then click the "Start Inking" button, located on the far right-hand side of the program.

If this issue still exists, it might be caused by the Widows having problems recognizing the input drivers properly. I recommend you connect the HP or input device provider to get a new driver to test.
