Information Store service crashing at startup
Hello, I have an Exchange 2007 server running on Server 2003 R2 x64. Every time I reboot the server the Information Store crashes. There is an entry in the event log that simply states "service terminated unexpectedly". I have run the BPA but it did not find any issues. Both Windows and Exchange are up to date with patches and service packs. Please advise how to troubleshoot further. I am able to start the Info Store manually and it works fine.

Are you running SP3 for Exchange? Try setting the IS to Auto Delay? What happen when that is set? Have your tried to run eseutil /mh on your DB to see if any DB are corrupted?

Hi Rsutton, I had same issue with Exch 2007 before. Please try the steps below: Note: Before editing the registry its recommended to review: http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/875762e7-a9fa-4ca5-a006-ed6eebe0d1321033.mspx?mfr=true 1. Click on "Start Menu", "Run" and Enter "Regedt32". 2. Expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS". 3. On the Right Pane, Double Click "DependOnService". 4. At the end of the Value Data, type "MSExchangeADTopology". 5. Close Registry Editor. 6. Reboot the Server. The MS doco is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555859
