Increasing Personal Distribution List Limit?
Exchange 2007/Outlook 2007/Online Mode I have read the MS artivles related to this and so I realize that the number of addresses that a user can add to a personaldistributionlist really comes down to size and not an actual number so I would assume that the limit that I would need to raise would be a size limit. How would one go about raising this limit so that my users can add the number of addresses that they were accustomed to adding before we migrated to Exchange? Is this a server side setting or some setting in the schema? I know that they can get around the limit by nesting their smaller lists but I just think that trying to explain that to 6,000 users, some of which are already upset that they have to learn a new email system since we just got finished migrating them will just lead to frustration on both ends.

You should create your Distribution lists in Active Directory There are no limits concerning Distribution lists and you can manage your DLs centrally Deli

Your problem is on the client side. You can create the dl's like the previous person mentioned but I have found that the way to work around this problem in the event the the person does not want the world to see their dl is to add a pst to the persons mailbox and create the dl in there. It works everytime! Let me know if you have anymore problems

Neither of the proposed solutions seem optimal in a situation where a large distribution list needs to be accessible to some users but not most. Presumably the limit is the one being referred to in here:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894530/en-usDoes this apply to Exchange Server 2007 as well? This nonsensical limitation seems to have been around for a long time and I can't believe it still exists. What is the purpose of this limit?
