Incorrect From address using Exchange 2003 SP2
Hi, I have a very strange issue with Exchange 2003 SP2. I have users who are trying to reply to emails with Outlook 2003 but when they reply, the From address is being picked up as a different user. The strange thing is that the From address user is on a distribution list contained within the "To" field in the email but was never the origional sender of the message. Sorry it's a bit confusing, any ideas?RegardsChris

Chris,Really wiered. Can you check if send as permission is given to any other ID. Check OWA and see if this behaves same? Also what will happen if you remove the from field from the new message??Raj

Hi Raj,Thanks for your replyYes, it's very strange. The user doesn't have send on behalf permissions but they do have Full access to the other users mailbox under mailbox rights. I've not tried OWA but I'll give this a go and report back. They are using Google Desktop Search to bring up the email initially but it's unlikely that this will cause it, I guess!RegardsChris

Thanks Allen for the reply. It's only been noticed by one user as most don't have access to other peoples mailboxes. I'll try safe mode and see what happens. Is the idea with this running Outlook with no addons to see if it does the same?RegardsChris

Hi,We can try it. And you can also try to create a test user, then grant the full access permission to this user, and check this issue.ThanksAllen
