Incorrect Exchange proxy settings being pushed to Outlook clients
I have an Exchange 2007 server that is serving Outlook 2007 clients. The exchange server also communicates with an Exchange 2003 server that serves clents in a partner office. Both reside in a Server 2003 Forest with the exchange 2003 server in the root domain and the exchange 2007 server in the child domain. Our exchange 2007 server was an upgrade (to new hardware) of a previously existing 2003 server. The problem is that the outlook 2007 clients keep recieving incorrect exchange proxy information and i can't find where the info is coming from. They recieve the url of the old exchange server (named txmail) instead of the new exchange server (named txmex). Txmail is no longer on the domain. It was decommissioned after the exchange 2007 server was deployed. When i manually set the exchange proxy information, the outlook clients have no trouble connecting with the exchange 2007 server either in the office or though the internet. But once in a while (or when i set up a new user profile) the outlook autoconnect finds the exchange server and configures the user account correctly, except for the exchange proxy information. Does anyone know where this information is stored? And how do i rectify it so that the correct proxy info is put into the user profile?

Hi, This must be part of your Outlook deployment package - this package needs to be changed to reflect the new server. Exchange server don't push proxy server settingsto clients. Leif

And you may want to check your DHCP (and maybe DNS) server(s).
