Incoming mail from 3rd party anti-spam / Outgoing outlook to exchange to 3rd party anti spam

Hi,

Can you please help me setup my exchange server? exchange server 2013 sp1... Do I need to create a send connector via smarthost, if i need to route outgoing mail from exchange to our antispam appliance? and for incoming mail? do I need to create any connector? or just simply configure the antispam appliance to point to our exchange server?

your answer are greatly appreciated

If you need your emails to be routed to anti spam appliance, then yes a send connector to route to this smart host from exchange server

for incoming, from anti spam appliance create a route to route to exchange servers.

Or use Microsoft Exchange Server Development Assistant to deploy Exchange 2013:

As you concerned, if we want to send email to external by antispam appliance, we could type IP of antispam appliance in Specify the address space or spaces to which the connector will route mail. If you want to receive email from external, we should create receive connector with anonymous
