Incoming email changed from html to plain text.
Hello everyone, I just installed SBS 2011 on a new server and all is running well except incoming emails to all users are converted to plain text. They are sent out as html and received as html outside of the domain. In house email is sent as html and received as plain text as well. What can I do stop the html from being converted to plain text? All updates on server have been completed. No AV on the server. Thanks inadvance for any help!!!! Matt

Do you have any antispam or antivirus appliance, server or service between the Internet and your SBS server? Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Is this happening to messages from all correspondents or just one organization? That is, can you get HTML messages from Yahoo! or Gmail? I am aware of controls to message format for outbound mail, but I'm not aware of anything Exchange does to inbound mail. Also, what if users view received messages in OWA? Are they also converted to plain text? If not, then it would follow that Oulook is doing the conversion. Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi Do you have anything to update? I am also very interested in this problem. I find similar case. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrtransport/thread/dc5ac496-1514-4dcd-9052-b064cfc1f5f3 As far as I know, SBS setting is different from normal exchange server. Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys. Been a busy week. Ed, They have had html emails come in from many places and they are all converted to plain text. I have viewed the source of the email and it states in the header that it has been converted to plain text. OWA does the same thing. Terrance, Everything is updated and I had read that post before I posted here. I will post it there as well. Thank you Matt

Do you have a firewall that might be "helping" you? Some do SMTP inspection and "cleanup".Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."
