Inbox renamed!

Hi everyone

This is a bizarre one..

We have 1 user who's inbox folder has renamed itself with another persons name. This person does not work for the company and never has done. It's one of her contacts! How do we rename her Inbox to say "Inbox" instead of Joe Bloggs (global operations consultant)?

This is a server side issue and not a client side issue as it displays this in OWA too

Using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2010

Thanks

Simon

Have you tried to start Outlook from the command prompt with the following switch:

outlook.exe /ResetFolderNames

Thanks.

Please inform your exchange team to check the details in AD and ECP. There is some mismatch in naming.

Check the email attribute is correct in Exchange as well as in Active Directory.

Else try below steps

File-> Account Settings-> Account Settings

  1. Double click on your email account.
  2. Press the More Settings button.
  3. Type the display name for your account on the General tab.
  4. Press OK until all dialogs are closed and you are back in the main Outlook window.

All AD attributes look normal and i can't see where to change any user attributes within ESM  as for the accounts settings, that just says user@domain.com which is correct, it doesn't let me change the "inbox" name

Thanks
