Inbound Email during coexistance
All, I have a question about how inbound configuration should be configured during coexistance. Currently we have Exchange 2007 installed in coexistance with Exchange 2003. Inbound email from the internet comes in to Exchange 2003. I was wondering prior to migrating if it is recommended to move inbound over to the hubtransport server. Currently outbound internet email goes through 2007. Thanks In Advance, WMP

well if you want my personal advice, and this is what i do for all my projects and all my customers, i keep the recieving through old environment for a few days before the migration, during these days i do monitor exchange server 2007 and 2003 , and check the mail flow between the two servers, i do create a test mail on the exchange server 2007 and test the mail flow between the two servers (2K3 and 2K7). after that i test the connectivity from outside as well for OWA, RPC over HTTP (if it was configured), then i migrate all the mailboxes to E2K7, and still the inbound emails are in 2003 as it was before, when i migrate the last mailbox i forward incoming emails to E2K7. and test the environment for a few days as well. then i start preparing the organization for exchange server 2003 removal and decommission. this is my suggestion based on my experience and based on my work with MCS ppl during the projects i had with my company.
