I am assuming that what you are talking about was correctly identified by the previous poster: AutoText. That poster suggested turning it off. Better yet, understand AutoText. It sounds like what is happening is the screentip or tooltip for an AutoText entry
that has the same name as what you have typed so far. You may want to change the names of your AutoText entries if this is not what you want. Otherwise, you could simply press the Enter key when the tooltip appears and allow it to insert your AutoText entry.
When you type the name of an AutoText entry, or the start of that name, Word will display a larger portion of the entry and allow you to insert it using the Enter key. If this is what is happening, the end of what pops up will say (Press Enter to Insert).
Automated Boilerplate Using Microsoft Word
If you recently changed from Word 2007 to Word 2013, this behavior may be unfamiliar to you because tooltips and automatic entry of AutoText was not supported in Word 2007.
In the screenshot below Word is suggesting the AutoText named pl_jurat which begins with the phrase State of Wisconsin. If I had named the entry as "State of Wisconsin," the default name, it would pop up when I typed "State." It pops
up after four characters, if those characters are unique as the beginning of the name for an AutoText entry.
If this is not what your problem is, please say so and give more details or perhaps a scree
