In premises Email Server (Zimbra) to O-365 email Flow

Hi,

I have O-365 mail boxes for around 100 users of my office and rest all other mailboxes are in Zimbra Server. I have created a send connector in O-365 to relay emails to Zimbra server for the mailboxes not present in O-365. I have my MX records pointing to O-365 so email flowing from internet is hitting O-365 server and from there it is getting relayed to Zimbra if mailbox is not present in O-365.

All this flow is working fine than 1 backward email flow i.e. Email being sent from Zimbra Server to O-365 are not going because Zimbra server is checking the mail box for local delivery as both O-365 and Zimbra share the same domains (e.g. MyOffice.com)

I have gone through various threads related to this but not able to get precise steps to get this done. I have thought through below solutions. Please let me know, If I am thinking in wrong direction:

1. Can I create a receive connector in O-365 and get emails routed to O-365. I would like know the settings to be done in receive connector to get email sent from Zimbra to get delivered on O-365 mailbox

2. Do I need to create email boxes of O-365 in Zimbra also and put a forwarder to domain.onmicrosoft.com Please suggest, how I should proceed to get this done.

Hi Anupam,

Thank you for your question.

Zimbra is not a Microsoft production, we suggest you contact you provider which is Zimbra to solve your issue.

Best Regard,

Jim
