In Exchange 2003, what account sends the mailbox over limit warnings
Exchange 2003. When mailbox reaches size limit , user receives the following email.
From: System Administrator
"Your mailbox has exceeded one or more size limits set by your administrator."
Is System Administrator an active directory account ? Does it have a mailbox? We are using GFI to archive our email and I want to filter these types of
messages, but I am not certain which account is sending the warnings.

The messages are not sent from a specific account, but rather from the System Attendant. Jim McBee - Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com

So the System Attendant does not have an associated Active Directory account? Does it have an mailbox?

Hi SysAdmin2415,
Sure, the mailbox do associates a Active Directory object, you could find it follow below:
lunch adsiedit
CN=Microsoft System Attendant,CN=<servername>,CN=Servers,CN=<sitename>,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=<orgname>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,CN=<domain>
And you could find the mailbox through ESM.
