In-place upgrade - Office 2010 to office 365 pro plus

Hello Ahmed,

Office 365 ProPlus can be installed side-by-side with previous versions of Office. So you should set new settings on Office 365 Proplus.

Hi Ahmed,

Office 365 ProPlus uses a new technology for the installation which is called "Click-to-Run". This technology provides an isolated environment for Office to run on your computer. This isolated environment allows you to run the latest version of Office side-by-side with an earlier version of Office that is already installed on your computer.

So basically, you are unable to perform an In-Place upgrade from Office 2010 to Office 365 ProPlus. If you don't want both versions, you should uninstall the earlier version first (i.e. Uninstall-Upgrade).

I have tested it on my own machine, any user settings that would migrate during a In-Place upgrade would still migrate when performing an uninstall-upgrade. The user settings will migrate upon the first use of each Office 2013 application.
