When I send a pdf to OneNote, it imports each slide as an individual page when using the desktop version. When I import the pdf into the OneNote app, it all appears on the same page as one continuous document (which I prefer). How do I get the continuous format in the desktop version?

You need to disable the "Insert long printouts on multiple pages" option under File > Options > Advanced > Printouts heading:
