Imported Contacts using CSVDE - Not showing in GAL
Hi, Environment: Exchange 2003 Sp2 Problem: Imported contacts (some with emails, some does not) using CSVDE, and after 48 hours, these contacts are still not visible in Default Global Address Lists. These imported contatcs are residing in "domain.com\External Contacts" OU. P.s: These contacts are used mainly for users to refer to the streetname, postcodes, and tel no. This is the reason why email address are not available for all these contacts. Any idea?

These contacts won't show up in the GAL either unless you mail-enable them. To create a mail contact in Exchange 2003 is fairly easy. Internal Email Address for External People http://www.amset.info/exchange/contacts.asp But I'm not sure how you would go about to bulk-enable these contacts. You could try with ADModify or ExchMbx. Introduction to ADModify.net http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996216(EXCHG.65).aspx#ExtensionAttributes ExchMbx.exe http://www.joeware.net I think the attributes in the AD you need to populate are targetAddress with SMTP:name@external_domain.com and and proxyAddresses SMTP:name@external_domain.com. Or you could use something like this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa493864(EXCHG.80).aspx --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
