If full text search indexing is required In exchnage server 2007 on journaling mailbox database?
Hi, We are having disk space issue with one of the drives holding the mailbox database for Journaled mailboxes. We have enabled fulltext search indexing on this database however since the databas is holding the journaled mailboxes only just wanted to know if we can disable the indexing on this database. There is catalog folder which is occupying around 21 GB of space. If we diable the indexing how do we move this catalog database folder to other location? Any pointers / links to the issue will be appreciated. Thanks SSThanks Shekhar S

Team, Below is the solution for the issue. Full text indexing only makes the searches of this database faster. you can definately turn it off. Moveing the database is straight forward. If you have issue with journal mailboxes, you may make a database in a different location (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/32a467bd-3929-4ab0-9673-e3b21fa18cd9/) and then do mailbox moves as well; http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/server-administration-exchange-2007-powershell-cmdlets.html If the mailboxes are very large, you may have to use the -IgnoreRuleLimitErrors switch.
