If I hide someone from Exchange Address Lists are they still part of the GAL?
Good afternoon all, If I have users that have the AD object checked where they are hidden from Exchange Address Lists, are they still in theory part of the Global Address List, but just unseen? The reason I ask, is that if I enable the anti-spam options on an Edge Server to Block Recipients Not in the Global Address List, will they still receive inbound external mail? Also, is there an easy way to find all users in AD that have been configured as Hidden from Address Lists? Best regards, G.-digsaw

The queries that are carried out for recipient validation work whether the user is hidden or not. The address still works and can still be queried by Exchange. As for your second query, a 30 second Google search would have brought you this link: http://exchangeshare.wordpress.com/2008/06/11/find-exceptional-mailboxes-in-the-exchange-environment/ Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK?
