I will be setting up Exchange 2007 in a new office
Hi Guys, I need some clarification on how to tackle this. The place where I work has no Windows Domain in place yet. I will be setting up a Windows 2003 Server (as a DC and File/Print Server) say Domain.local . I will then have another server (member) to be an Exchange Server. Currently our mail system runs on Sun Solaris with mail.aaa.bb.com . How would I setup my Exchange Server so that our e-mail addresses remain the same moving to Exhange 2007? I know all the server roles. Basically, i would like to know how to name my Exchange Server (i.e. EXCHANGE). Would it be exchange.domain.local? and how would I get the @mail.aaa.bb.com . Thanks for your help.

Hi,You can give the exchange server any name you want - this has no influence on the smtp domain names. The SMTP domain name is an accepted domain name in Exchange 2007.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124423.aspxLeif
