I cannot use the send on behalf feature in outlook. I am getting a rights error
My client has exchange server 2003 and uses outlook 2003 to view its email. Recently I was setting up a shared calendar in outlook using the delegate tab. I setup each person I wanted to be able to view calendar. When I clicked on the automatically send a message to the delegate summarizing these permissions and clicked on apply, I kept on getting the errror "The delegate settings were not saved correctly. You do not have permissions to perform this operation on this object".The client has local administrative privileges. Howeve, the client does have an account in active directory. Is there anyway to fix this problem so I can setup delegates in outlook in order to view my client's shared calendar. Thank You!! I apologize, I know this is an exchange server only forum. Are there any forums for outlook that could answer my question. visualbasicfrustrated

Hi, From the description of KB913696,we understand that delegate access to be assigned successfully, the SELF account must have the "Write Personal Information" right. Additionally, when the user logs on to Exchange Server, Exchange Server must be returning a DC/GC that is local to the user account's domain so that the publicDelegates attribute can be written. So first please check security permission on problematic user from ADUC. 1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers. 2. Expand Your_Server, and then locate the users Organizational Unit (OU). 3. In the right pane, right-click the user who is experiencing the delegate issue, and then click Properties. 4. Click the Security tab, locate the SELF account, and then click Write Personal Information . 5. Make sure the Write permissions check box is selected, and then click OK. After that, please try to check connect status on outlook. 1. Hold Ctrl and right click the Outlook icon in the system tray (usually the bottom right corner) 2. Select Connection Status... 3. Compare the Directory connections on both clients and also ensure that both are connecting via TCP/IP 4. Check if all the status in Established Regards, Xiu
