ISP requires SSL authentication - Does Exchange server 2003 support SSL?
I am using Small Business Server 2003 R2 Premium with Exchange server 2003. I have SP2 for Exchange server 2003 installed on this server. We were able to download our emails from our ISP's pop mail servers just fine, then they "upgraded". Now, they require SSL authentication for the login. I've talked with there tech support and they pretty much say they can't help me. My question is does Exchange server 2003 (with SP2) support SSL? I am using the POP3 Connector Manager to download the emails from my ISP.Any input would be greatly appriciated considering our business' email is down until we can find a solution. Thanks,John

John,No it doesn't support SSL see the following blog:http://msmvps.com/blogs/bradley/archive/2007/05/31/using-pop-connector-with-at-amp-t-yahoo.aspxThere are two options:- start using smtp (batched smtp)- use another pop3 connector (for a full overview: http://www.slipstick.com/exs/popconnect.asp)Regards,Johanblog: www.johanveldhuis.nl

Hi,In this scenario, Exchange doesn't support SSL to download the email. You need to resort to the POP3 Connector. As Johan recommended, please refer to the article which is provided.ThanksAllen
