ISA 2006 version on Windows 2003 64-bit platform
Hi, We have been using windows 2000 child domain controller in our environment. as per our company policy we force to use windows server edition across all the servers. presently we are having ISA2004 standard running on windows 2000 server. We planned to migrate our servers to Blade server and we have installed blade server, which has 16GB Memory. Presently all the blade server has windows standard 2003 64-bit OS installed that supports 16GB Memory. Also we wanted install ISA 2006 standard version on the blade to get the advantage of high memory availability. Now the issue is ISA standard 2006 doesn't support windows 2003 64-bit OS. if iuse windows standard 200332-bit it can support only 4GB remaining 12GB will beunusable. Is there any solution available for us to use ISA 2006 server on windows standard 2003 environment (standard version) taking full memory advantage. If not, if i use windows server 2003 enterprise edition 32-bit on balde, is there any technical issue related to our domain controller (running on2000 version).

Utilizing more than 4GB of RAM is not supported in Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition in both the x86 (32bit) and x64 (64bit) versions. This is a license limitation of Standard Edition. Read more here. When running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition you may utilize up to 64GB of RAM. On x86 (32bit) versions of Windows Server you will need to use PAE, which is limited to enabling 32GB of RAM.You should check with your vendor whether your blade systems support this feature.Read more on PAE here. s-partha wrote: If not, if i use windows server 2003 enterprise edition 32-bit on balde, is there any technical issue related to our domain controller (running on2000 version).
