ISA 2006 and Unwanted mail
We are running exchange 5 on windows server 2003 sp2 - with ISA passing SMTP traffic through. How can I get ISA 2006 to stop the unwanted mail (exchange is not enough). Thank you! Patrice

1. I'd recommend that you upgarde your exch server to 2010. There's more features avaliable with exch 2010 to which would help you achieve what you want. Like recipeient, sender, IP filtering etc... 2. To upgrade from exch 5 to exch 2010, you will have to do something like 5.0>5.5>2003>2010 3. Or usee 3rd party tools such as Quest, even then you will have to egt to 5.5 at least. 4. If you havent got much email, then maybe export to a PST file then buildin your exch 2010 concurrently and import. 5. If you want filtering now, then you could use a 3rd part service to screen your mails then pass to your exch server, such as MessageLabs.Sukh

ISA server cannot do any spamfiltering if thats what you're looking for. Exchange 5 !! whow thats old, time to upgrade. Exchange 5 have a very limited email filtering capability. Never version of Exchange has more things to offer here. you can also have your mail be scanned by for example. Forefront Online Protection for Exchange. But there exist many other providers doing the same thing. lasse at humandata dot se, http://anewmessagehasarrived.blogspot.com

It can't be Exchange 5 - you can't run that on Windows 2003. It must be Exchange 6.5, ie Exchange 2003. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.
