IOS devices receiving meeting requests with delegates- iPhones/iPads
Hello All, I have some senior management mailboxes of which we have delegates for. Recently the individuals have been receiving meeting requests on their IOS devices with delegates on the mailboxes. Delegates are setup not to send duplicate meeting request to delegates only. Was receiving this error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958443 and have completed the steps. Additionally worked through this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950794/en-us Which has cleaned up those errors (I was just adding/removing send of behalf permissions on the Exchange MMC). Still have the problem with IOS devices receiving meeting requests. Thoughts/next steps? I'm managing the delegates permissions from my computer as I have full access permissions to those mailboxes, online profile setup. Exchange 2010 SP1 w/ rollup 7 installed on a SBS 2011 environment. Thanks- Marty

Hi Marty, Who receive the meeting request? The delegate or the senior manager? Where did you receive the meeting request? The inbox of senior manager or the calendar folder in mobile device? How did you configure the delegatin on senior manager's mailbox? Please capture a screenshot so that I can better understand. Thanks .Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support

Hi Fiona, I setup a test case, was able to reproduce the error condition. Delegate is reciving meeting request as intented, problem is senior manager is getting meeting requests on their IOS devices. Senior management is not receiving in Outlook as expected. Marty is the delegate for Lorenz. Eric sends a meeting request to Lorenz which Marty receives in Marty's Outlook inbox as expected. Lorenz does not receive a copy in Lorenz's mailbox as expected. However Lorenz's IOS (iPhone) device shows a meeting request notification on the alert/home page for the iPhone. Pop's up when the phone i locked etc. Meeting request received in invitations calendar folder of the mobile device.

It's basically this:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3831408?start=0&tstart=0 But for someone with a delegate why are the IOS devices getting delivered/triggered is my question.

Hi Marty, Thanks for your update and explanation. Still need to double confirm that what your senior manager received is the meeting requests, which require a response (accept or decline), or is the meeting reminder, which only shows there is a meeting in a few minutes? If it is a meeting request, then there might be an issue of ActiveSync, may be a known issue that require the latest hotfix, or a corruption in mailbox/items that require recreating. If it is a meeting reminder, I think it is by design. The Delegates option Deliver meeting requests to my delegates only could not remove the meeting appointment from senior managers calendar. After the synchronization, the mobile device will have the same meeting appointment. Thats why your senior manager receive meeting reminder from iPhone. What we need to do is disable the reminder in iPhone. Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support

Senior management is receiving a meeting invitation (requires response - accept or decline) on IOS devices, not in Outlook. Latest Rollup 7 installed on the Exchange 2010 SP1 machine. Happens across 3 different mailboxes plus a test mailbox I setup a delegate on so I think that rules out a singular corrupt mailbox. Reminders are functioning as intended. We want those and are getting those.

Hi Marty, Can the issue only occur on iOS devices? Do any other mobile devices have the same issue, such as Android and Windows Mobile? If not, this may be an iOS issue. Sean Qiu

Hi Marty, Since Android doesn't have this issue, we can determind that this is an iOS issue. I understand you have disabled inventation notification on the senior managements phones. If you still want to resolve this issue, I suggest you contact Apple support support for direct information. Sean Qiu

Hi Marty, Can the issue only occur on iOS devices? Do any other mobile devices have the same issue, such as Android and Windows Mobile? If not, this may be an iOS issue. Sean Qiu Only happens on IOS devices, have a user with a Android and their iPAd is affected but not the phone (Droid). It's an IOS + Exchange issue, now sure what the next steps are. I disabled inventation notification on the senior managements phones and assume the pile of meetings requests will filter out at time goes on in their phones.
