Weird one here, but I can't find anything online about it. It is surely quite a common scenario though.
It's been tested with Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 from different locations and machines.
We have a single Outlook profile, with two email accounts configured.
- user@domain1.com - Exchange account (Office 365)
- user@domain2.com - IMAP account (hosted elsewhere)
We simply want to have the two accounts in Outlook as separate accounts as the user works for two different companies.
HOWEVER... Here is what happens when he tries to send from his user@domain2.com account.
- He clicks 'New Email' and changes 'From' to his user@domain2.com account.
- The email sends, but goes into the Sent Items of the user@domain1.com account.
- The recipient sees the sender as 'user@domain2.com on behalf of user@domain1.com.
This happens for any email he tries to send from his IMAP account.
Tried...
- Adding the accounts the other way around, setting the IMAP as the default account.
- Flicking through all the account settings, everything is normal, it's just a standard IMAP account.
- Can't see anything in the Outlook Mail/Advanced options that might change this.
- IMAP account works absolutely fine if the Exchange account isn't present in the Outlook profile.
Can anybody shed some light on this one?
Thanks,
Sam
