IMAP4.exe and POP3.exe Error
Hi All, Has any one of you ever encounter these type of Errors ? IMAP4.exe Error: Faulting application microsoft.exchange.imap4service.exe, version 8.1.263.0, stamp 47a985c6, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.4062, stamp 462643a7, debug? 0, fault address 0x000000000000dd10. POP3.exe Error: Faulting application microsoft.exchange.pop3service.exe, version 8.1.263.0, stamp 47a985bd, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.4062, stamp 462643a7, debug? 0, fault address 0x000000000000dd10. that error message was generated when those particular Services is failed to load during the startup time. the source of Error was generated from .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting, EventID: 1000 any idea please ? Here is my config: Exchange Server Standard 2007 SP1 + Update Rollup 1 MS Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 SP2

Hi, First I suspect that it could be IMAP4 & POP3 *.CONF file corrupt issue. Please try to replace the below files(Note: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\PopImap) from another Exchange 2007 server. Microsoft.Exchange.imap.exe.configMicrosoft.Exchange.imapservice.exe.configMicrosoft.Exchange.imap.exe.config.bakMicrosoft.Exchange.imapservice.exe.config.bak Microsoft.Exchange.pop3.exe.configMicrosoft.Exchange.pop3service.exe.configMicrosoft.Exchange.pop3.exe.config.bakMicrosoft.Exchange.pop3service.exe.config.bak Besides, please try to apply the below hotfix which is related to .Net Framework. A hotfix rollup package is available that resolves the problems that are described in KB articles 913297, 913393, 918995, and 924895 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926776/en-us After that,if the issue persists, then please use Adplus to catch the crash dump file for further troubleshooting. Debugging Tools for Windows(x64) http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/install64bit.mspx 1. Run the below command from a command prompt. Note: C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows(x64)\ is the default installation directory for Adplus. C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows(x64)\adplus -crash -sc c:\program files\microsoft\exchange server\Clientaccess\popimap\microsoft.exchange.imap4service.exe -o C:\dumpfiles 2. Run services.msc to start Service manager and then start IMAP4 service. 3.Run the below command from a command prompt.C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows(x64)\adplus -crash -sc c:\program files\microsoft\exchange server\Clientaccess\popimap\microsoft.exchange.imap4service.exe -nodumponfirst -o C:\dumpfiles 4. Please start IMAP4 service from Service manger.
