IIS/World Wide Publishing service not starting on mailbox server role
I have 2 CCR clusters and 1 LCR mailbox server role. I notice that IIS is not running on the 4 nodes in the CCR cluster, but is running on the LCR machine. All machines are 2007 SP1 UR10. I don't know when IIS stopped. It is set to automatic, when I try to start it, it fails immediately with a dependency failure, however the services it claims it depends on are started. I am somewhat suspicious that this was broke with the install of UR10, but not sure where to go. The only errors I get are 1060: The dependency service or group failed to start (as a pop up immediately) when I try to start in Service Manager and event 7001 in the system log with "The World Wide Web Publishing Service service depends on the HTTP SSL service which failed to start because of the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. " The dependent services are started. Any ideas?

Hi, Please restart the dependent services and then try to start the IIS service. If the issue persists, please try to reinstall IIS service: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320202 Gen Lin TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. So, let me get this straight, on 2 ccr clusters, I should remove Exchange, reinstall IIS? This is unacceptable, there has to be another way! I think this is a result of either a failed update or update rollup 10.

This was a failure of UR10. I just wanted to update my solution. There was another service that was set to disabled that IIS was dependant on. Once I set that service to manual, IIS started up, no problems.
