IEAK 8 doesn't keep my build settings
hello, having some problems with IEAK 8 and wondering if anyone has any suggestions. i am building a custom IE8 package with IEAK 8, but most changes i have made using the tool don't seem to stick after i test run my build. i'm installing it on a virtual machine running win xp sp3 that currently has ie7 on it. my main problem seems to be locking down the toolbars. for instance, i don't want msn messenger, rss feeds, or the maill icon there. also would like to get rid of the security icon. i have not had any success with that. other than that, i would like certain menu's locked down, for instance the advanced tab under internet options. i don't want any of my users messing with those settings. inprivate browsing, which i also hope to lock down and make unavailable to users, i am guessing is a group policy thing. i've found it's location in gpedit, but whatever i set locally will get trumped by what's pushed down by the network i'm guessing. for now i'd just like to get the toolbar and menu items secured before moving on to the group policy aspect of things. any ideas? i'm starting to pull my hair out. for a man who's already balding, this is not a good thing.
