How to view everyones email boxes from the mail pane
When I took over, the administrator account in Outlook showed everyones mailbox on the left pane where it says "Folder List". I've tried and tried to figure out how this was done but keep hitting dead ends. I've added a new user and he didn't automatically show up on the list. I'm using Exchange 2003example:+ Mailbox - Administrator+ Mailbox - John Smith+ Mailbox - Sally Sanchez

It sounds like each userwas setup under the Adminstrator's mail profile in the Open These Additional Mailboxes section.

You would also need to grant that account Full Mailbox Access to the new accounts- unless something elsehas already been done like granting it Receive As permission on the server objectThistype of config isn'ta builtin thing to Exchange but rather something your previous IT guy did for whatever purpose.

Yes, I agree with the friends above. You can add additional mailboxes according to the steps in the following article: Open additional Exchange mailboxes http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP010030561033.aspx

But see, if I go to 'Email Accounts / More Settings / Advanced' it doesn't show me any mailboxes, and it should if that was the way it was created, no? Also, when I add a user via that method they show up on the left pane but when I click them I can't view anything. Just says "There are no items to show in this view".

Hi, This is the expected behavior. When you open "Advanced" you will not see anything as there are no other mailboxes added to your mailbox profile. You must also have veiw only mailbox rights to access the same. Please refer the below article to for mailbox permissions. It's being added somewhere because I can see all the users mailboxes, but they don't show up on my "Open These Additional Mailboxes" section. It's really hard to try and figure out what someone did previously, especially when it works in a strange way :)

Hello, As Vishal mentioned, you need to grant the corresponding permission firstly to open the mailboxes. You said, there is no users shown at "Email Accounts / More Settings / Advanced / Open these additional mailboxes". This is strange. I suggest you contact your ex-admin to ask if he use some self-develop or third party software to achieve this. Normally, if we want show the mailbox as you described, we need first add permission, and then add the account in 'Email Accounts / More Settings / Advanced'. Thanks, Elvis
