Hi, please check this article: Dumpster 2.0 in Exchange 2010 works perfectly even for synchronization problem in Active Sync. By default is is set to 14 days, but you can change it: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/09/25/3408389.aspx For the mailbox database: Set-MailboxDatabase -DeletedItemRetention 60 For the mailbox: Set-Mailbox -RetainDeletedItemsFor 60 RegardsZbynk

1. One of the key points in that article and new to exch 2010 is the litigation hold. The above commands would not prevent purges. To prevent recovery of data/deletion of mail, place the mailbox on litigation hold if you want to prevent users from purging the mail. Set-Mailbox joe@contoso.com -LitigationHoldEnabled $true http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd979797.aspxSukh

Hi jwestrock, Any updates? If you just want clients to recover delete items using Recover Deleted Items for 6 months mails(and they are allowed to entry recover deleted folder), the cmdlet provided by Zbynek is enough. Otherwise, you may need to consider of Legal Hold(litigation hold) or Single Item Recovery.
