How to run Forest Prep/Domain if the GC/DC is in separate server during pre-requisite check of Exchange 2003 Installation?
Hi All, I have situation here, i have 2 DC (GC/DC)and 2 Server ready for Exchange Server 2003 installation. During the pre-requisite check prior to installation of Exchange 2003, i need to run forestprep then if successful next is domainprep. When i run the forestprep,it cannot continue since it cannot found my DC. My question is, how to run the forestprep/domainprep if the GC/DC is in the separate server. Thank you. Regards, Lymford

This sounds like you have bigger problems than running forest/domainprep. Make sure you are running this with domain admin and schema admin rights, if that's not the issue then start looking intoconnectivity problems between your server and the DC's. Start with DNS then check Sites and Services. You could always run the forest/domain prep on the DC but that wont fix the fact that your Exchange server isn't seeing the DC's. Thanks Will
