How to resolve the sender display Name on incoming messages. Exchange 2007.
Yesterday:applicaton server (Mainframe) --> mail server 1 (Relay) --> mail server 2 (Exchange 2003 Front End) --> mail server 3 (Exchange 2003 Mailbox)The application server generated an email from user1@company.com to user2@company.com, when the mail showed up in user2's inbox, and viewed with Outlook 2007, the from field was resolved to User1's Full Name. This is good.Today:I replaced mail sever 2 with an Exchange 2007 HUB/Transport server. Now when mail is sent from the application server, the from field is not resolved to the users full name. Instead the from field still shows user1@company.com.Note: Both users are in the GAL. Also, when I telnet to the Exchange 2003 server and send a message the name is resolved correctly. When I telnet to the Exchange 2007 server the name is not resovled correctly.Any suggestions on how to fix this?Chad

This was fixed by enabling the check box for Externally Secured connection, in the Authentication tab of the Default Receive Connector. Here's some info on that : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996395.aspx

I think this is called "ResolveP2" Which is a permission given on the receive connector of your Hub Transport server. Read this article for a brief description. You'll notice the way they implement option1 vs option2 changes how this feature works. http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/12/28/432013.aspx more info here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828770 & http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3837198&SiteID=17
