How to remove Exchange 2007 server from 2003 production
My company was evaluating Exchange 2007 and integrated it with our Exchange 2003 environment. After evaluating we have decided to wait for 2010 to be released. The problem is, instead of uninstalling Exchange 2007 from the test machine, the virtual test machine we deleted. How can I get the remaining remnants removed from Exchange 2003? Can I just delete the Exchange Admin Group (which has the test machine listed under it) and keep the First Administrative Group (which has our production Exchange 2003 server under it). Thanks!

I would reinstall Exchange 2007 on that server object with the recoverserver switch:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123496.aspxThen gracefully uninstall Exchange 2007.As for the Admin group and anything else in AD, Leave it. (Exchange 2010 will use that same Admin group ( FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)) and routing group as well.

I attempted to reinstall Exchange but continue to run into issues telling me to run adprep /forstprep first; however when I try and run it it says it has already been ran and wont allow me.

Keep in mind that the Exchange 2007 SP2 (not RTM or SP1 though!) schema extensions are the same as what you will need for Exchange 2010. http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/08/28/452209.aspxedit: sorry I didn't see that your original post was so old.
