How to recover a deleted local distribution list?

Howdy,

Have a user who had a local distribution list that got deleted.  He opened up the list, clicked a user, pressed delete and it deleted the entire list instead of just the contact he was highlighting.

How the heck do we get this list back?  It's not under Deleted Items at all.  That only shows email messages and not contacts.  When I go to Recover Deleted Items, that also only shows messages and not the contact list.

Is there somewhere to get this list back?

Thanks.

Hi,

By "a local distribution list", I think you mean "a Contact Group", is this right?

I suggest you Press "Ctrl + 6", this will switch the view to Folder List in Navigation Pane, then find the Deleted Items folder, it will display all deleted items including messages and contact items. Check if you can find the deleted Contact Group there.

Yes, that is what I mean.  Couldn't think of the actual Term.

But no.  We went into Deleted Items from the folder list and there are only emails in there.

Hello,

After trying Moderator's suggestion, if you are still unable to find your Outlook Contacts, then you should move on any third party tool. Once, I had the same issue in my past, then One of my friends suggested me a wonderful tool to recover permanently deleted Outlook Contacts and other Outlook items. When I used this tool and ran its demo version, it really worked awesome. So I would like to suggest you this tool on the behalf of my personal experience.

Note: Run its demo version before move further.

Best Regards
