How to prevent users from using any Powerpoint templates, except those which we approve for us?

Hi, hoping someone would have some suggestions here. A request has come to us to look at stopping our users from using any Powerpoint templates, except the current approved company ones.

I know you can put additional templates here HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\General - SharedTemplates. However, not so sure how to go about blocking other templates.

Searching online hasn't brought up anything relevant either.

Anyone ever done anything like this before? Thanks!

No, you can't do this only based on Office, because office has no mechanism to check if the template has been approved.

I have a idea, you can manually set a folder and encrypt (control it by yourself). Then, make it as default template location.
