How to prevent end-user from purging emails in the dumpster?
Thanks, Patrick

I haven't heard of a way to do this. Are you concerned about lack of traceability in the event of a need to investigate a security issue? In this case message journaling and archiving is likely to be the better option. Even if you don't have message journaling and archiving you can generally discover what emails a givenrecipient had by going through the Exchange store backups. Of course if a user receives an email and then purges it from the Dumpster before the backup there's not much you can do about it. Tony www.activedir.org MVP - Directory Services

Message journaling has significant performance impact on live Exchange server. IMO, Microsoft should make "end-user purging emails from dumpster" an administrator control option. Patirck
