How to open a tcp port on Windows Server 2003 R2 x64
Hi I would like to open tcp port 10709 on my Exchange 2007 hub servers. When I do a netstat -an , port 10709 is not listening and I am unable to connect via telnet. Thanks iiismael

Did you check with PortQRY tool to verify that ports are listing or not? From where are you checking telnet? You may need to check any physical firewall/switch to see that it is not block anywhere. Amit Tank | MVP: Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Elvis I posted this on the Windows Server forum and Joson Zhou asked me to post here. Amit I use netstat -an to see which ports are listening and in use. How can I make port 10709 listening? Thanks Ismael ismael

Hi, Do you want port 10709 to listen to smtp communication? If so, you could set it at EMC | Server configuration | Hub Transport | receive connector | network tab | IPv4 address | port to use. You could change the default port 25 to 10709 or create a new receive connector for this port. If you want open port 10709 for other usage, please get help from our Windows Sever forum. Thank you, Elvis
