How to install a Cross-Forest Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Management Console?
You mean during the install or after? As long as you've prepared the schema the tool will install. After it's installed you go to the tool and add the forest to manage. James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

I did post my question in Partner Online Technical Communities. This was the answer of my question: "I would like to explain that as the Exchange tool is installed in another forest, of course it cannot identify another forest name. Active Directory forest trust doesn't involve Exchange. So, at this point, we should regard the server which installs BackupExec as a non-domain joined computer and install Exchange tools directly on it. After completing the installation, please refer to the following article to connect to forest A Exchange: Exchange 2010 Management Console Installation http://emds.unt.edu/EMC2010 One thing we need to make sure is we need to run as an Exchange admins account."Soheil

Hi all, there is an Exchange 2010 Org. in Forest A and a BackupExec 2012 intallation in Forest B. For the installation of the BackupExcec Agent on Exchange 14 in Forest A first I have to install the Exchange Management Console on the BackupExec 2012 Server (Forest B). To prepare this step I did following Steps: Create the Organization Management linked role group http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876918.aspx There is a didicated Trust between Forest A and Forest B in both direction. By starting a custom Setup of Exchange Server 2010 (not by the command line) I have to put the name for a new Exchange Org. This means to me the setup was not able to find the existing Exchange Org in Forest A. I did also create a domain local Group in Forest A and add the computer account of the Backup Server from Forest B and assigne 'autothentication permission' on Exchange Server computer account for my local Group in Forest A. What is the next step to get Exchange Management Console installed on the Backupserver in Forest B? Regards,Soheil

Yes but the forest will have to update the schema. James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Hi James, this is an important information, thanks. I could find no information about how the Exchange Org. name (in Forest A) can be discoverd by the installation of Exchange M. Console (in Forest B)? Regards, Soheil
