How to increase the attachment size in exchange server?
I'm sure there must be an easy solution to this. I've tried increasing the size in active directory (under the general tab), but it seems controlled through a group policy. I've also attempted changing the smtp virtual server with no luck. Any ideas?

What maximum size did you have in mind?Do you want to increase attachment size for sending mail or receiving mail?Do you want to make the change globally or for an individual?Which version of Exchange are you using? In Exchange Server 2007 you can examine the relevant proerties of mailboxes using the following command:get-mailbox |format-table name, max*sizeHave a look at the Help files on the set-mailbox cmdlet (for single user limits) and set-transportconfig cmdlet (for global settings).

Thank you for the message. For now I have changed the attachment size limit to 10MB under the global setting -- > message delivery. Prior to this it was set at 5MB. Ideally, I would like to be able to change the limit based on the user's needs. I'm using exchange 2003 - version 6.5.

Set you Global setting as your need globally for all users and then for each user who needs an exceptipn, make an exception under their user account properties in ADUC (Exchange General Tab>Delivery Restrictions). Sukh

Hi, Try to change the size of send and receive connectors to match the maximum send and receive size set at Organizational level. Hope this solves the problem. Afz
