How to have two users share an email address
How do I set up Exchange 2003 so that two people can receive email from hr@company.com? Is there some kind of group functionality? Or do I just go into each user in AD on the exchange server and manually add the additional email address of hr@company.com?

Hi I would create a mailbox for that function and then give permissions to the users that should have it. Then just add/map it up in the mailbox for these users Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuration | MCITP: EMA | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

Can I make a group in AD with an exchange mailbox, then add the two users to the group?

AFAIK, No.. The only group you can use is to distribute messages to a lot of users with distribution lists. So for your question I would go with my suggestion like aboveJonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuration | MCITP: EMA | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

All you need to do like Jonas said is to first create a mail enabled user account and grant necessary rights to users you want to be able to manage the mailbox account. Follow the below steps to do so: Step 1: Start 'Active Directory Users and Computers'. Step 2: On the 'View' menu, ensure that the 'Advanced Features' check box is selected. Note: This is not necessary on Exchange Server 2003 as the 'Exchange Advanced tab' is exposed by default. Step 3: Right-click on the user for whose mailbox you want to grant permission and choose 'Properties'. Step 4: On the 'Exchange Advanced' tab, click 'Mailbox Rights…' Step 5: Click 'Add' and then click on the user/group for which you want to grant access to this mailbox and click 'OK'. Step 6: Ensure that the user/group is selected in the 'Name' box. Step 7: In the 'Permissions list', click 'Allow' next to 'Full mailbox access' and click 'OK'. Step 8: Click 'OK' to finish.

Still another possibility would be to use a 3rd party tool to get around the whole problem: http://www.servolutions.com/changesender.htm

I ended up just creating a group in Exchange, added an email address, and finally added the two users to the group. It worked perfectly, so now each user gets a copy of every email sent to the HR email. Just wanted to let you know that this is also an option. We are using Exchange 2003 on Windows Server 2003 STD R2.
