How to have internal email scanned by external MTA.

Hi, Guys

For exchange 2013/ exchange online, I know it is easier to have external scanner to scan inbound/outbound email , but i don't know if it is possible to have internal email was scanned by external MTA before deliver to internal recipients. anyone know how to  achieve this and if the MTA can change email content?

please advice urgent from where this can be done , thanks very much!!

Thx , Allen

MTA means Message Transfer Agent, as what you said, external MTA cannot used for internal mail flow, it means there is no way to scan or operate internal email with extern MTA or Security service.  Is it true?

Actually, we have a requirement is : we want to work on internal email and outgoing email before it was deliver to recipient on Premise and Online, like (DLP is an example). It seems that there is not a good way to hanlde this.

So possible solution is: Create an Admin email account, define a transport rule to route all email to the Admin mailbox and use EWS or other interface to operate the email and then deliver to recipients, like the built-in feature of quarantine MS-exchange have.

Any good suggestion for me?

Thx

Hi,

DLP is supported by Exchange 2013, we can deploy DLP policies with transport rules to define messaging policies, covering the entire spectrum of soft to hard controls.
